Tadi malam (30/12) merupakan malam bersejarah bagi seluruh crew dan pemain drama yang pernah ditayangkan di stasiun televisi MBC. Karena malam tersebut merupakan malam di mana beberapa drama dan para pemainnya akan menerima penghargaan dalam ajang MBC Drama Awards 2012 atas kerja keras mereka dalam drama selama 12 bulan terakhir ini.
Sama seperti penghargaan lainnya, ajang penghargaan ini juga punya Grand Prize (daesang) Award, yaitu kategori penghargaan paling tinggi di antara kategori lainnya. Untuk daesang tahun ini akhirnya dimenangkan oleh aktor senior Jo Seung Woo berkat aktingnya dalam drama The King’s Doctor.
